Mew (Pokemon fan art) by Snowconesolid Mew (Pokemon fan art) by Snowconesolid
Here is the final render of my small mew project made for graphic practice. Had a lot of fun and think this is one my best models yet. This is also my very first render with Blender's cycle's engine. Learned a lot and am proud of this one. Hope to produce even better in the future.

The model is actually halfway decent.
Learn how to render though.

Looks awesome!!!!!!!!! Brings back childhood memories. Hey, how many samples did you use, and did you use any clamp?

Thanks! I didn't do anything with the clamp. I used 1000 samples for this render. For some reason though the bubble is still kind of fuzzy.

Still looks fantastic though. I've been trying to learn through experimenting and some tutorials online about Cycles while I learn basic modeling as well. Course sometimes trying out a render in Cycles can be very time sucking. XD How long did this image roughly take to render? My last image I made (a shark picture..hehe I don't know how to link it properly on deviant art) I used 2000samples and 1 plane that was an emitter light source and it took about 11 min. 0 Clamp cause I'm not fully sure how to use it properly.

Thanks. Im actually still learning about the cycles engine as well so I still dont really know to much about it. 11 mins sounds fast. I think the more geometry in scene the longer it takes to render but I could be wrong. As I said, I am also just learning to use the cycles engine. I believe this render took maybe about an hour and a half to finish.

My guess is that the size, colors and lighting are what effects it most. Im not sure because one picture i did of two simple keyblades and no fancy lighting took 55min which shocked me. Oh i recently found out that in cycles you can render off your CPU or GPU and i found my gpu to be faster even though i have an 8 core so testing which is fastest for you might help.
